Devoe’s Rainbow Orchard

DeVoe’s Rainbow Orchards is a century old 100 acre family farm located in Southern Saratoga County, which is in upstateNew Yorkat the foothills of the greatAdirondackMountainregion. Merritt DeVoe along with his wife Margaret started building this farm right after his return from service during World War I. Groomed in the family farm since his birth his son Lawrence and his wife Ava eventually took over the business in 1965. Their children all helped in the family business throughout the years but four of them (Lynn, Craig, Joy and Alan) have stayed on and continue to work the farm today. Their main product is their 40 acres of beautiful apple trees where they harvest an average 15,000 bushels each year. They also grow corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, winter squash, peppers and pumpkins. Their country store is OPEN YEAR ROUND where you can visit their bakery, browse a wonderful selection of local products as well as their own produce and gather great gift ideas like custom designed fruit and gift baskets. From April until October each year you can also spend some time in their ice cream shop Rainbow Delights. They offer great old fashioned favorites like sausage or steak sandwiches, salt potatoes and meatball subs. But they also offer terrific everyday food like hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and onion rings. Then you can top off your visit with a premium soft ice cream treat like a cone, malt or sundae. DeVoe’s takes pride in their family and by family they mean their customers. They have had the pleasure of knowing and serving some of their customers through multiple generations.
